Measure the big pieces first

Size questions
Which van do I need to move house?
As a rough guide: a small van for a few items or a studio, a medium van for a one-bed flat, a large van for long loads or a small two-bed, and a Luton with a tail lift for a two or three-bed house. The van size guide shows each move loaded.
Can I drive a Luton on my car licence?
Yes, if you hold a full category B licence. Category B covers vehicles up to 3,500 kg maximum authorised mass, and every van we hire, Lutons included, is 3.5 tonnes or less.
Should I go a size up?
If your load is close to the limit, yes. A second trip usually costs more in time and fuel than the step up in van size.
