How van hire works
Get a price, collect from our yard on Leagrave Road or have the van delivered, and bring it back. Here’s everything you need to know.
Three steps
Get a price
Pick a van and your dates and we come back to you with a price. Confirm it and pay the deposit.
Collect, or we deliver
Collect from our yard on Leagrave Road, day or night, or we bring the van to you. We walk round it with you before you set off.
Bring it back
Return it with the same fuel, or we collect it from you. We check it over together and refund your deposit straight away.
What to bring when you collect
Bring these with you and the handover takes minutes.
- Your photocard driving licence
- A DVLA check code from gov.uk (valid for 21 days)
- Proof of address from the last three months
- Your van hire insurance details
- A debit or credit card in your name
Your licence covers every van we hire
A full category B licence covers vehicles up to 3,500 kg maximum authorised mass. All of our vans, including the Lutons, are 3.5 tonnes or less.
Look after it like your own
You’re responsible for the full cost of any damage, including the time the van is off the road for repair. We walk round the van with you at collection and note every mark, so you only pay for what happened on your hire.
Hiring questions
What do I need to bring?
Your photocard driving licence, a DVLA check code (from gov.uk, valid for 21 days), proof of address dated in the last three months, your insurance details and a debit or credit card in your name.
Do I need my own insurance?
If you have your own van hire insurance, you can drive any of our vans, and extra drivers on your policy cost nothing more. [Client to confirm whether we can arrange cover for customers without their own.]
How old do I need to be?
If you provide your own insurance, we have no minimum age of our own: your insurer’s rules apply.
Can I drop the van somewhere else?
Yes. You can leave the van at another address and we collect it from there, for a collection charge. Ask for a price when you book.
Can you deliver the van?
Yes. We can deliver the van to your door and collect it when you’re done, for a charge based on the distance. Ask when you book.
What if I need a van urgently?
Yes. We’re open 24 hours, and when it’s urgent we can usually have a van ready within the hour. Call us any time on 07718 178363.
